Shipping Aerial Work Platforms from China: Container & Export Guide

2026-10-04

Shipping Aerial Work Platforms Internationally

Buyers often ask how aerial work platforms are transported from China. This guide explains the main shipping methods, loading plans, documents and costs, based on JIANUO's daily export experience.

1. Container Loading Options

40ft High Cube Container (most common): Most mobile scissor lifts and compact mast lifts fit into a 40HC container. The machine is driven or winched in, chocked, lashed and secured to prevent movement.

Flat Rack / Open Top: For larger boom lifts or machines with tall masts, a flat rack container is used. The unit is lashed and covered, and the cargo is over-width or over-height in some cases.

Bulk / Break Bulk: For very large telescopic boom lifts, roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) or break bulk shipment may be more economical.

2. What Export Documents Do You Need?

- Commercial Invoice & Packing List
- Bill of Lading
- Certificate of Origin (CO)
- CE Certificate & Declaration of Conformity
- ISO Quality Certificate
- Factory Test Report / Inspection Certificate
- HS Code: 8425.49 or 8428.90 depending on the machine type (confirm with your forwarder)

JIANUO provides the complete document set for smooth customs clearance in your country.

3. How to Calculate Shipping Cost

Shipping cost depends on: machine dimensions and weight, container type, port of loading (usually Qingdao, Tianjin or Shanghai), destination port and current freight rates. For the most accurate quotation, send us your destination port and we will arrange the best sea freight for you.

4. Packaging & Protection

Machines are strapped to wooden pallets or shipped on their own wheels with lashing points secured. Battery terminals are disconnected, hydraulic fluids are kept at safe levels, and the unit is covered with protective film for ocean transport.

Contact JIANUO for a complete shipping quotation to your port, including container loading photos and export documentation support.
